Have you ever started something with great enthusiasm, only to discover halfway through that finishing was going to take a little more effort than you expected? Maybe it was a home project, a diet, an exercise program—or that closet you promised yourself you were finally going to clean!
The Apostle Paul understood that the Christian life is a journey. In Philippians 3, he admits that he hasn’t “arrived” yet. Instead, he says, “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal.”
What wonderful encouragement for us! We don’t have to have everything figured out. We don’t have to be perfect. We simply keep moving forward with Jesus.
Sometimes that means letting go of yesterday’s mistakes. Sometimes it means trusting God when tomorrow seems uncertain. And sometimes it simply means getting up in the morning and saying, “Okay, Lord, here we go again!”
The good news is that we never travel alone. Christ has taken hold of us, and His grace is with us every step of the way.
So this week, keep loving, keep serving, keep laughing, keep trusting—and keep pressing on!
God isn’t finished with us yet!
Grace and peace,
