Have you ever noticed how easy it is to remember the wrong things?

We can remember where we misplaced our keys three weeks ago but forget where we put them just five minutes ago. We can recall an embarrassing high school moment with crystal-clear detail but sometimes struggle to remember why we walked into a room!

Thankfully, God is not like us.

Psalm 89 reminds us of one of the greatest truths in all of Scripture: God is faithful. The psalmist begins, "I will sing of your steadfast love, O Lord, forever." What a wonderful way to live! Not counting problems forever. Not worrying forever. Not complaining forever. Singing of God's love forever.

When we look around, we see evidence of God's faithfulness everywhere. The sun rises each morning. The seasons come and go. Friendships bless our lives. Families support us. Churches gather to worship. Through joys and challenges alike, God continues to walk with us.

The psalm also reminds us that "happy are the people who walk in the light" of God's presence. That doesn't mean life is always easy. It means we never walk alone. God shines His light on our path, guides our steps, and gives us strength for each new day.

One of the great joys of the Christian life is learning to notice God's blessings. A kind word from a friend. A beautiful sunset. A child's laughter. A hymn sung with a congregation. A prayer answered in an unexpected way. These are reminders that God's steadfast love surrounds us.

As a church family, we have much to celebrate. God has carried us through difficult days, blessed us with wonderful people, and given us opportunities to share His love. His faithfulness is not just a story from the past—it is something we experience every day.

So this week, let's join the psalmist in singing about God's goodness. Maybe not all of us can carry a tune, but all of us can carry gratitude in our hearts! Let us look for reasons to smile, reasons to give thanks, and reasons to praise God.

After all, we serve a faithful God, and that's always something worth singing about.

Grace and peace,

Pastor Jim
