Have you ever had one of those days when you wondered if you were making any difference at all? You know the kind of day—your to-do list keeps growing, your energy keeps shrinking, and even your coffee seems to need a little coffee!

Well, here's some wonderful news: God isn't finished with us yet!

In 1 Thessalonians 2:9–13, the Apostle Paul reminds us that living our faith is about more than simply saying the right words. It's about encouraging one another, sharing God's love, and allowing His Word to work in our hearts.

Paul worked tirelessly to share the Good News, but what made his ministry special wasn't just his hard work. It was his love for people. He encouraged them, comforted them, and reminded them that they were called to live as beloved children of God.

And guess what? That same calling belongs to us today!

Sometimes we think making a difference for God requires something extraordinary. But often, the greatest blessings come through the simplest acts of kindness. A friendly phone call, a warm smile, a helping hand, or a prayer for someone who's struggling can brighten a day and remind someone that they are loved.

And let's not forget, a homemade casserole or a plate of cookies can be a pretty powerful ministry tool, too! After all, we Methodists have always understood that fellowship and food make a wonderful combination!

One of my favorite reminders from this passage is that God's Word is continually working within us. Even when we stumble, become discouraged, or feel like we're not accomplishing much, God is still shaping us through His grace.

We don't have to be perfect. Thank goodness for that, because some of us haven't even managed to get through breakfast without making a mistake!

We simply need willing hearts and a desire to share the love of Jesus.

Imagine what our church and community could look like if each of us made it a point to encourage one person every day. A little more kindness, a little less complaining, a little more forgiveness, and a whole lot more love!

That's how God's grace changes the world—one heart, one smile, and one loving act at a time.

So, as we go about our busy days, let's remember that we are never too old, too young, too busy, or too ordinary to be used by God. Every one of us has something wonderful to offer.

Keep smiling, keep encouraging, keep loving, and above all, keep trusting that God is working in you and through you!

Because the best news of all is that God isn't finished with any of us yet. And I can't wait to see what He has planned next!

May God's joy fill your hearts, His grace guide your steps, and His love shine through everything you do!

Grace and peace,

Pastor Jim
